Sensory Foundations is a baby and toddler group designed by a paediatric occupational therapist to support early development through sensory play, movement, and connection. These sessions are a space for babies to explore and grow — and for parents to learn, feel supported, and build confidence in understanding their child’s sensory world.
What to Expect from Sensory Foundations
Sensory Foundations is a six-week series of baby and toddler classes (ages 0–3), each grounded in paediatric occupational therapy and designed to support your child’s sensory development from the very start.

Each weekly session explores one of the core senses:
- 🖐️ Tactile (touch)
- 👀 Visual (sight)
- 👂 Auditory (sound)
- 🧭 Vestibular (movement and balance)
- 💪 Proprioception (body awareness)
- 👃 Olfactory (smell) and Gustatory (taste)
Sessions are structured to be both fun and supportive, and include:
- Sensory-rich play opportunities tailored to your baby’s age and stage
- A short education segment for parents, so you can better understand your child’s development and how to support it at home
- A simple, engaging activity for your baby during the parent learning portion
- A consistent, gentle opening and closing routine to help babies feel secure and settled
All activities are grounded in developmental science, with a strong emphasis on responsive, respectful interactions between you and your baby.
