Nóiníní Child Development Centre is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all participants, parents, and visitors. Our practices align with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
Risk assessments are conducted regularly for all activities and venues. Emergency evacuation procedures are reviewed and communicated at each session venue. First aid supplies are available at every class.
Parents remain responsible for their child’s supervision and safety at all times during sessions. Clear walkways and child-safe sensory materials are used.
As all children remain under the supervision of their parent or guardian during Nóiníní sessions, the responsibility for child safety lies primarily with the attending adult.
Nonetheless, we adhere to Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children (Tusla, 2017). Any concerns about a child’s welfare will be reported to Tusla following mandated reporting requirements.
The business owner is the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) for child protection concerns.
Nóiníní complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We collect only essential information to run classes and conduct assessments. Class registration includes names, contact details, and any relevant developmental notes provided by the parent.
Assessment services involve the collection of detailed developmental information. This data is stored securely and is only shared with consent.
Parents may request access to their data at any time. Data will never be shared with third parties without explicit written consent.
Class attendance and registration records are stored securely for 12 months for administrative and revenue purposes.
Assessment records, including reports and consent forms, are stored for a period of 7 years following best practice standards for allied health professionals.
All paper records are stored in a locked cabinet; digital files are password protected.
Data no longer required is securely destroyed in line with GDPR guidelines.
Infection prevention is a priority. Parents are asked not to attend sessions if they or their child has experienced vomiting, diarrhoea, or a contagious illness in the past 48 hours.
Hand sanitiser is provided at each session. Shared equipment is cleaned thoroughly before and after each session.
If a child appears unwell during a session, the parent may be asked to leave for the comfort and safety of others.
We follow HSE guidance on childhood illnesses including RSV, chickenpox, and COVID-19.
Refunds are not issued for missed sessions. In the event of serious illness or family emergency, individual accommodations may be considered at the discretion of the owner.
If a class is cancelled by Nóiníní, a full refund or credit will be offered.
All bookings are non-transferable to future terms unless pre-agreed.
Payment is required in advance to secure a place.
Parents/guardians must remain present and are responsible for their child’s behaviour and safety.
Nóiníní is not liable for personal injury or property damage unless caused by proven negligence.
Late arrivals are welcome, but sessions will not be extended.
We welcome feedback and take concerns seriously. Complaints should first be addressed informally to the session leader.
If unresolved, complaints may be submitted in writing via email. All written complaints will be acknowledged within 5 working days and responded to within 10.
Where relevant, complaints may result in procedural reviews or staff training.
We are committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for all children and families.
